Getting started

These sites introduce basic modeling techniques of the static structure, control flows and how to connect both formalisms.

Getting started with Visio 2003

In our approach Microsoft Visio 2003 is used to draw the models. ActiveCharts uses special Visio 2003 stencils (consisting of graphical elements, called “shapes”, e.g. Class, Activity, Relationship) for modeling tasks.

Modeling the Static Structure

A specification of a software system consists of a description of its static and dynamic parts. The coarse grained static structure (architecture) describes components and their relationships.

Modeling the Appliction Control Flow

A specification of a software system consists of a description of its static and dynamic parts. To model the dynamics of a system, the “ActiveCharts (Dynamics)” stencil is used.

Getting started with ActiveChartsIDE

ActiveChartsIDE is the central application for class diagram import, code generation, activity diagram import and serialization, as well as model simulation and debugging.
